RFSAT is a young research-performing SME organization established as a spin-off the University of Westminster in the United Kingdom in 2008. It has concentrated its activities on research and development through national UK research funding, industrial consultancy and deployment of research results in the telecommunications industry. The areas of main activities include Digital Signal Processing, audio/video broadcasting, multimedia processing and communication, cooperative and tele-presence systems, hybrid indoor (wireless) and outdoor (GNSS with assisted and differential variants) positioning and localization systems, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), networked audiovisual systems, mobile applications / services and Location Based Services (LBS). RFSAT is currently strongly investing into European Framework 7 activities in the thematic areas of Information and Communication Technologies, Environment, Space, Transport, Security, Smart Energy and Electronic Health systems. RFSAT has been involved in a number of national and European projects where it was responsible for development of sensor data acquisition and medical processing/analysis algorithms, and remote monitoring services.
