The Virtual Environments and Imaging Technologies Research Laboratory at the University of Pannonia deals with applications of multimedia and virtual reality and optic research. Researchers have more than 10 years experience in developing multimedia and virtual reality software for rehabilitation tasks for use by people with disabilities (low vision, hearing impaired, physical and cognitive disabilities, stroke and aphasia patients). Evaluation methods to assess the impact of such software on these user groups are also a research priority. In 2005 the Laboratory became the Hungarian National Contact Centre for EDeAN, the European Design for All e-Accessibility Network.
